I established Wordsmithing Services in 2007 following a career in retail buying and product development. I’d always enjoyed wrangling words and information, so when it was time for a change from corporate life, writing seemed a logical choice. I studied Professional Writing & Editing at RMIT and later trained in Instructional Design.
In addition to working with my Wordsmithing clients, I consult with Strategic HR, writing procedural, policy and training documentation and developing eLearning solutions for clients including large retail chains and service providers.
I also teach in RMIT’s Professional Writing & Editing program and pursue my own creative writing practice. As a 2017/18 Bayside writer in residence, I have a studio in the grounds of Billila historic mansion where I am working on a fiction project and cookbook memoir.
My qualifications include a Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing and Bachelor of Arts in Design (Fashion) from RMIT. I am certified in Instructional Design (Criterion Referenced Instruction) and my technical writing skills include Information Mapping™ and Articulate (an e-learning program).
I’m fortunate to have a great network of freelancers, including writers, editors and proofreaders, photographers and designers, and draw on their skills for various projects. You can find out more about this talented group of people, including booking their services, on The Freelance Network page.
